Construction cleaning

Builders cleaning after the trades leave

A builders clean is the first clean after trades leave a UK site: plaster dust, paint flecks, adhesive and film on the glass. We cover England, Scotland and Wales. A small flat is often a few hundred pounds, and a whole house after sanding costs more. Send the quote form or WhatsApp with the rooms.

What the visit is built around

Send the rooms, the stage of the build, and whether you need a sparkle after snagging.

HEPA before a wet wipe

Wiping plaster dust with a damp cloth turns it into a film on glass, skirtings and new flooring. Dust is vacuumed out of edges first.

Paint, adhesive and labels

We lift paint flecks, silicone smears, stickers and protective film from frames, glass, sanitaryware and worktops. We do not strip factory finishes or cut out failed tanking.

Timed around snagging

Book the builders clean when trades have left. Book the sparkle after the snag list, or the second visit is wasted on fresh filler dust.

What we will not take on

We do not remove asbestos, we do not run a demolition skip, and we do not clean while plaster or screed is still open. Those jobs need a different contractor.

Plaster dust, not household dust

Sanding and plastering leave a fine white dust that a household vacuum blows back into the air. We lift it with a HEPA vacuum before anything is wiped.

Builders clean, then sparkle

The first visit clears debris, paint spots and bulk dust. The sparkle waits until snagging is finished, so boots and filler do not undo the glass and floors.

Quoted from the site, not a menu

A one-bed after a bathroom refit is a different job from a whole-house plaster sand. The quote follows rooms, dust, glass and access.

Who it is for

Who books a builders clean

Book this when the trades have finished and the rooms still hold plaster dust, paint flecks and film on the glass. It is not a weekly house clean.

Homeowner after a refit

A kitchen, bathroom or whole house has been rebuilt. The clean happens before you move back in or walk the snag list.

Landlord or agent at handover

Works are done and the property has to be checked, photographed or handed back. We come after the last trade, not while filler is still open.

Holiday let before the next guest

A refresh between stays is a different job. Book us when builders have been in the let and the dust would show in the photos or at check-in.

What the visit covers

Construction Clean Checklist in the UK

A builders clean in the UK is quoted, not taken off a card. Most small flats land in the low hundreds of pounds. A full house after plaster sanding costs more, and London access adds time. The four things that move the price are rooms, how fine the dust is, how much glass and adhesive there is, and whether you need a sparkle after snagging.

Included

  • HEPA vacuum of floors, edges and sills
  • Dust-down of frames, skirtings, switches and radiators
  • Paint flecks, stickers and adhesive spots
  • Kitchen and bathroom fittings wiped, not rebuilt

Not included

  • Asbestos or other hazardous material
  • A skip for demolition rubble
  • Cleaning while wet trades are still open
  • Sealing stone, tanking or re-silicone of showers

Before we arrive

  • Trades off site, or a clear list of live rooms
  • Power and water on
  • Keys or a site contact for access
  • Tell us about new floors that must stay dry

After the visit

  • Keep windows closed if sanding restarts
  • Run extracts so settled dust does not return
  • Book the sparkle only after snagging
  • Walk the rooms with us before we leave

Questions

Most houses are quoted from the number of rooms, how fine the dust is, and how much glass and adhesive there is. As a guide, a small flat often sits in the low hundreds of pounds and a full house after plaster sanding costs more. London access and delicate finishes push the quote up. We price the site you describe, not a flat menu.

The builders clean takes the bulk: debris, plaster dust, paint spots and a safe wipe of fittings. The sparkle is later, after snagging, and is the streak-free glass, chrome and inside-cupboard pass before keys or photos. Booking the sparkle while the builder is still filling holes means paying for it twice.

A single room with light dust can be done with a HEPA vacuum and dry microfibre, working top to bottom. A whole house after sanding usually is not a weekend job: household vacuums exhaust the dust, and a wet mop smears it into new floors.

Plaster dust is still in extracts, radiator fins, curtain tracks and the tops of door linings. If sanding starts again, or the cooker hood was never opened, the film returns. That is a second visit, not a failed first wipe.

No. Light offcuts and packaging can go with the clean. Structural rubble needs a skip. Suspected asbestos stops the visit. We do not cut out silicone, tank a wet room, or seal stone.
