How this visit is done
After sanding, cooker hoods, bathroom extracts and visible grille faces are full of plaster dust. That dust blows back into a room you have just cleaned. This visit is the accessible grilles and the face of the fan, not a duct rebuild. Send the quote form or WhatsApp for a UK visit.
Power off at the isolator if there is one. Grille off, vacuum the box you can see, wash the grille, refit. We do not pull ducting apart.

- Grilles taken off where they unclip, vacuumed and wiped
- Fan faces and the immediate housing we can see
- Cooker hood filters that come out for washing
- A note if the duct itself is packed and needs an engineer
Not this job
- We do not strip MVHR systems or climb into commercial ductwork
- We do not rewire fans
- We do not clean a vent that is the only extract while plaster is still being sanded
- Filters that are falling apart are reported, not replaced, unless you have the new one

Price
A handful of grilles is a small add-on to a builders clean. A house where every fan is choked is listed on the quote. Commercial plant rooms are a different contractor.

DIY, and how long the result lasts
DIY or a crew
Unclipping a bathroom grille and washing it is reasonable. Do not stick a vacuum into a live fan. If you cannot isolate it, leave it.
How long the result lasts
The room stays clearer once the grille is not a dust bomb. If sanding continues, the grille fills again. Clean vents after the dust-making stops, as part of the final clean.
Run the fan for a while after we refit it. If it still smells of burning dust, switch it off and get an electrician. That is not a cleaning issue.

It stops the dust stored in the grille. Dust still in a long duct, or new sanding, will not be fixed by a grille wash.
No. We clean accessible grilles. A balanced ventilation system needs its own maintainer.
Mesh filters that unclip, yes. We wash them. Charcoal pads that are spent need replacing. Bring the new pad if you want it fitted.
